Valentines Day Strawberry Cream Center Cookies

Ingredients:
½ cup unsalted butter, room temp.
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
2 1/2 Tbsp. milk
2 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
Colored sugar, (for rolling the cookies)

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
In a large bowl or in the bowl of a stand mixer fit with the paddle attachment, cream together the butter and sugar.
Add in the egg, milk, and vanilla extract. Continue to mix until well combined.
Add the flour, baking soda, and salt to the wet ingredients. The dough will seem dry at first. Keep mixing until a nice dough forms (about 1 1/2 - 2 minutes).
In a small bowl mix together about 1 Tbsp. of red colored sugar sprinkles, pink colored sprinkles, and about 3 Tbsp. of granulated sugar to create a multicolored mix of colored sugar. This part is optional.
Scoop and roll the cookies into about 2 Tbsp. sized balls. Roll each dough ball into the sugar.
Place about 1 1/2" apart on the prepared cookie sheet and bake for 9-12 minutes or until golden brown on the edges.
Right when the cookies come out of the oven place a chocolate heart in the center of the cookie. Gently press the chocolate in a bit so it stays in the cookie.
